I earned my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Creighton University in 2007 and am a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist. Along with my work as an occupational therapy consultant, I serve as a university instructor, homeschool educator, and proud mother of two daughters, one of whom has multiple disabilities, including autism.
Drawing on my personal and professional background, I am deeply committed to helping caregivers and professionals embrace both the challenges and the unique strengths that accompany neurodivergence and disability. As a dedicated disability advocate, I wrote a children's book to educate about disabilities and inclusion and serve as the Executive Director of Disability Book Week, a global, all-volunteer organization that promotes and celebrates disability-inclusive literature.
I currently live in Sycamore, Illinois, where I continue to work toward creating more understanding, inclusive, and supportive communities for all children.
